Australia House is the oldest Australian diplomatic mission and the longest continuously occupied foreign mission in London.
This magnificent monument signifies Australia’s unique relationship with Britain, but is also a strong reminder of Australia down to the finest details. Much of the interior stone, marble and timber was shipped by sea from Australia during World War 1.
Despite building work commencing in 1913, WW1 delayed construction and it wasn't until 3 August 1918 that the building was officially opened by King George V. Australia House marked one of the first major building projects undertaken by the Australian Federal government following Australia’s Federation.
Route includes the magnificent and richly decorated Exhibition Hall - best known as Gringott's Bank in the first Harry Potter movie, the Downer Room, Cinema Hall, Bank Vault and the Australia House staircase.
Pre-booking is required for this building
