Resource Mobilisation Advisor 50% FTE

One year contract (renewable if funding permits)

Circa £38,700 pro-rata including London weighting, excluding benefits 

Two autonomous Commonwealth organisations, the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) supporting democracy and development at a local government level and The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) with a community, youth and gender focus have established a limited number of aligned / shared posts to enhance cross organisational efficiency and collaboration.

Employed on the staff establishment of the RCS at a flexible 50% FTE, a Resource Mobilisation Advisor will have a pivotal role across both organisations to directly develop partnerships and raising funds from corporate sponsors, philanthropies and high net worth individuals, support existing teams in the generating of income from key institutional / government donors,  developing, managing and monitoring an integrated resource mobilisation plan for each organization, and exploring potential opportunities for collaborative projects.

Applications are sought from individuals with a relevant graduate qualification, at least 7 years proven experience in resource mobilisation across institutional, governmental, bilateral/multilateral and philanthropic funders and donors and with experience in developing proposals from concept to completion. Ability to work with donors as well as manage and build strategic donor relations, and a sound understanding of the donor financing landscape and processes is necessary.

Applicants with relevant experience in international development, local government and/or community development, the ability to work with teams and with the existing right to work in the UK are encouraged.
